Scope: This standard applies to electric irons for household and similar purposes. The purpose of this standard is to describe and define the essential performance characteristics of electric irons for household and similar purposes of interest to users, and to describe standard methods for testing these characteristics. The electric irons covered by this standard are: - dry irons; - steam irons; - open steam irons with electric pumps; - spray irons; Water container or evaporator/generator for steam irons. This standard addresses neither safety nor performance requirements.
