This standard specifies a method for determining the color resistance of various textiles to the action of artificial light instead of natural sunlight, as well as the ability to resist heat and the ability to resist aging. Of the 5 different exposure conditions (see 6.1), 4 used a D65 light source and 1 used a shorter cut-off wavelength light source. This test method takes special account of the exposure of textiles to the light and heat generated inside motor vehicles. These five different exposure conditions provided similar but not necessarily identical test results.
