- This standard establishes the classification of assistive devices for the disabled. This standard applies to assistive devices that are primarily intended for single use. It also applies to those assistive devices for the disabled that can only be used with the help of someone to operate them. The following terms are excluded from this standard: - terms used for the installation of assistive devices; - solutions combined with individual assistive devices in the classification of this standard; Non-technical solutions such as personal assistance, guide dogs, lip readers; — implants; — financial support.
