Warning: This part of GB/T 9345 may involve hazardous chemicals, materials, operations and equipment in use. This section does not address safety issues associated with the use of this section. It is the responsibility of the user of this section to establish appropriate safety and health regimes and to determine the applicability of these regulations prior to use. Precautions should be taken to avoid inhalation of fumes such as hydrogen chloride released during thermal decomposition of polyvinyl chloride. This part of GB/T 9345 specifies three methods for determining the ash content of polyvinyl chloride. The general steps in GB/T 9345.1 are adopted. Method A is used for the determination of ash and methods B and C are used for the determination of sulfated ash. All three methods can be applied to resins, compounds and finished products. Methods B and C are used when lead-containing compounds are present.
