Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for marking plates used to increase rear visibility of heavy and long vehicles, low-speed vehicles and their trailers. This standard is applicable to: a) Heavy-duty and long vehicles include: 1) articulated Class II and Class III M vehicles; 2) N₃ vehicles except semi-trailer tractors; 3) The length exceeds 8.0m O₁, O₂, and O₃ vehicles; 4) and O₄ vehicles; b) Low-speed vehicles: due to structural reasons, the maximum M, N, O vehicles whose design speed is not greater than 40km/h.
