Scope
This part of GB 15558 specifies the definition, symbols, materials, general requirements, geometric dimensions, mechanical properties, physical properties, test methods, inspection rules, technical documents, marks of buried polyethylene pipe fittings for gas (hereinafter referred to as "pipe fittings") and labeling, as well as packaging, transportation, and storage. This section applies to buried polyethylene pipe fittings for gas made of PE 80 and PE 100 materials. The pipe fittings specified in this part are used in conjunction with the pipes specified in GB 15558.1-2003 "Buried Polyethylene (PE) Piping Systems for Gas Use Part 1: Pipes". This Part applies to pipe fittings with the following connection methods: ——Socket pipe fittings for hot-melt butt joint and electrofusion connection; ——Electrofusion pipe fittings: a) Electrofusion socket pipe fittings; b) Electrofusion saddle pipe fittings. This standard does not apply to pipe fittings that utilize hot-melt socket connections using heating tools. When transporting artificial gas and liquefied petroleum gas, the adverse effects of other components (such as aromatic hydrocarbons, condensate, etc.) in the gas on the performance of the pipe fittings at a certain concentration should be considered.
