Scope
This part of GB/T 16935 stipulates the requirements for electrical clearances, creepage distances and solid insulation of electrical equipment according to the performance standards of electrical equipment. This standard contains electrical test methods for insulation coordination. The values for minimum electrical clearances specified in this standard do not apply in the presence of ionized gases, for which special requirements will be specified by the relevant technical committee. This standard applies to basic insulation, supplementary insulation and reinforced insulation that withstand high-frequency voltage stresses in low-voltage equipment. Insulation dimensional data in this part of the standard applies directly to basic insulation; for reinforced insulation, the additional requirements given in IEC 60664-1 apply. Electric clearances under voltage application conditions; determination of creepage distances and solid insulation dimensions. This section should be used in conjunction with IEC 60664-1 or IEC 60664-5. Through the combined use of the above three standards, the voltage frequency limit of IEC 60664-1 and IEC 60664-5 can be increased to above 30 kHz. This section also applies to IEC 60664-3 and to type 1 protection when the voltage frequency exceeds 30 kHz. Protection for Type 2 is still under consideration. This section applies to electrical equipment used in an environment where the altitude does not exceed 2 000 m and the rated voltage does not exceed AC 1 000 V. This section does not apply to the following occasions: — in a liquid environment; — in an environment other than air; — in compressed air. This standard is intended to provide guidance to technical committees responsible for various electrical equipment standards in order to coordinate the relevant requirements of each equipment, so that the purpose of insulation coordination can be achieved when specifying electrical clearances in air; creepage distances and solid insulation.
