Scope

This part of GB/T 16935 applies to components protected against contamination by coating, potting and molding. The clearances and creepage distances of such components may be less than those specified in Part 1 or Part 5. electrical distance. This section specifies the requirements and test procedures for two types of protection: - type 1 protection for improving the micro-environment of the protected component; - type 2 protection similar to solid insulation. This section also applies to various types of protected printed boards, including the inner surface of multilayer printed boards, substrates and similar protected components. For multilayer printed boards, the relevant requirements for distances through an inner layer are included in the requirements for solid insulation in Part 1. This section deals only with permanent protection and does not apply to components that can be mechanically adjusted and repaired. The principles of this section apply to functional insulation, basic insulation, supplementary insulation and reinforced insulation.
