This standard specifies the product classification and naming, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of food additive sodium hydroxymethyl cellulose. This standard is applicable to the food additive sodium carboxymethyl cellulose made from cellulose, sodium hydroxide and chloroacetic acid or its sodium salt as main raw materials. The product is used as a thickener, stabilizer, etc. in the food processing industry.
