- The provisions in this article are applicable to linear and logarithmic analog counting rate meters within the general measurement range (0.1 pulse/second to 106 pulse/second). Rate meters can be stand-alone or part of other instruments. This article does not distinguish between test categories such as finalization, routine and delivery, nor does it give specific values for specified characteristics. Necessary explanations should be made according to the specific use of the instrument during implementation. This article specifies the most commonly used characteristics that represent the working performance of counting rate meters, and establishes a set of corresponding test methods to verify these characteristics.
