This part of GB/T 9414 is an application guide for maintainability, which is applicable to the implementation of the maintainability program at each stage of product design, development and use. GB/T 6992.2-1997 describes the various tasks in the product life cycle phase. In order to obtain the best maintainability of the product, this section provides guidance on how to consider the tasks of maintainability. It should be noted that the complete maintainability program described in this section is only applicable to complex products that may be used for a long time. For relatively simple maintainable products, it is necessary to formulate a relatively simple maintainability program through tailoring to meet the requirements of products of different complexity and different users. In order to explain in more detail how to undertake maintenance tasks, this section also uses other standards, especially the GB/T 9414 standard series, as reference documents or tools. Since the environment and conditions of different enterprises are different, the contracts signed between users and suppliers will also be quite different. The premise of writing this section is that when the product is regarded as a research and development item (DI), the contractor conducts research and development based on meeting the specific requirements of the user. However, in many cases, the product already exists and requires only a little or no research and development, that is to say, the product is a non-development project (NDI), and there is no need to adopt the complete maintainability program described in this section. However, some principles stipulated in the standard can still be applied when necessary, and it can be tailored to meet the needs of the project.
