Scope: This part of GB/T 8897 specifies the requirements for the electrochemical system, size, nomenclature, extreme structure, marking, inspection method, performance, safety and environment of primary batteries, and also specifies the electrochemical system as a classification tool for primary batteries. System letter, electrode, electrolyte, nominal voltage and maximum open circuit voltage of the system. This section is applicable to ensure that batteries produced by different manufacturers have standardized shape, fit and function, and can be interchanged.
