This standard specifies ultrasonic A-type pulse reflection technology, an overview of inspection methods for deformed aluminum and magnesium alloy products, inspection personnel, environment, equipment and materials, sample preparation, inspection method requirements, records, reports, and result descriptions. The method stipulated in this standard is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of rolled, extruded and forged products of aluminum and magnesium alloys, and the applicable product specifications are as follows: -- plates and forgings with a thickness not less than 6 mm; -- a cross-sectional area not less than 70 mm 2 Profiles with a thickness of not less than 6 mm; -- round, square, and hexagonal bars with an inscribed circle diameter of not less than 10 mm; -- thick-walled pipes with a wall thickness of not less than 20 mm. This standard does not apply to castings, weldments and sandwich structures.
