Scope

This part applies to DC fixed capacitors with a rated voltage not exceeding 6 300 V. This type of capacitor uses polyethylene terephthalate film as the medium and metal foil as the electrode. For capacitors with a rated voltage exceeding 1 000 V, additional tests and requirements may be specified in the detail specification. Capacitors covered by this section are intended for use in electronic equipment.
