Scope
The symbols given in this part of GB 14232 can be used to express certain information on medical devices used in the blood collection process and storage. This information may be required to appear on the device as part of the label, or be provided with the device. Some countries require the use of their own language to express the information of medical devices. This creates a series of problems for manufacturers and users. The symbols specified in this section do not replace the requirements of current national regulations. Manufacturers have invested a lot of human and financial resources in programming their logos so that they can be understood by people who speak different languages. The main problem that follows is that when multiple languages are included on a single label or document, there are many problems in translation, layout and organization. It is also time-consuming and confusing for users to find the corresponding language. The purpose of this section is to solve these problems by using internationally recognized symbols and giving exact meanings. The main expected role of this part is to label medical devices for the collection, processing, storage and transportation of medical devices that are sold to countries with different languages. This section may also be helpful at different stages of the blood supply chain, such as: --- sellers of blood collection instruments (manual or machine-collected) or representatives of other manufacturers; --- blood centers and distribution centers to simplify and Determine its operating procedures. These symbols are primarily intended to be used on the medical devices mentioned above and not on other therapeutic products. This standard does not specify the size and color requirements of symbols, although these specified symbols have been specially designed to be clearly identifiable when reproduced in the available blank space on the labels of blood processing and blood transfusion equipment, and are suitable for in-line printing. Certain symbols specified in this section may apply to other fields of medical technology.
