Scope

This standard specifies the visual assessment grades for the degree of corrosion and the quality of rust removal on steel surfaces before painting. It is suitable for hot-rolled steel surfaces that have been treated by blasting or projectile descaling, hand and power tool descaling, and flame descaling. The evaluation of the derusting grade on the surface of cold-rolled steel can also be used as a reference.
