Scope
This part of GB 10963 specifies the technical requirements applicable to single-pole and two-pole circuit breakers (hereinafter referred to as circuit breakers) operating in DC circuits. These requirements include terms and definitions, classification, circuit breaker characteristics, signs and other product information, standard operating conditions, structural action requirements, and relevant test requirements and test methods necessary to ensure the repeatability of test results. A single-pole circuit breaker means that the rated DC voltage does not exceed 250 V, and a two-pole circuit breaker means that the DC voltage does not exceed 500 V and the rated current does not exceed 125 A. These circuit breakers are designed for use by untrained personnel and require no maintenance. The circuit breakers in this part are intended to be used in the environment of pollution degree 2. The circuit breakers in this part have an isolation function. The circuit breakers in this section are also applicable to DC power supply systems using floating power supply (ungrounded) that meet the requirements of specific short-circuit tests. This standard also applies to circuit-breakers having several rated currents, provided that the appliance changing from one rating to another is not accessible during normal operation and the rating cannot be changed without a tool. For circuit breakers whose protection level is higher than IP20 in GB 4208, and which are often used in places with severe environmental conditions (such as excessive humidity, superheating, supercooling or dust deposition) and in hazardous locations (such as places prone to explosion), it may be required special structure. The circuit breakers in this part have the characteristics of preventing accidental disconnection and will not be affected by inrush current and electrical load.
