Scope

This standard specifies the general provisions of artificial pollution test methods for high-voltage insulators used in AC systems, such as contaminated substances, test sample preparation, and test methods. This standard is applicable to the pollution resistance performance test of porcelain and glass insulators used in outdoor polluted environment conditions for AC power systems with a rated voltage of 1-500kv. Except for Article 9.3 and Appendix B (reference) of semiconducting glaze insulators in this standard, other parts can be tested with reference to this method.
