Scope

This standard specifies the test method for the linear density of synthetic staple fibers - the gravimetric method. This standard is applicable to the determination of linear density of synthetic staple fibers such as polyester (polyester), polyamide (nylon), polyacrylonitrile (acrylic), polypropylene (propylene) and polyvinyl formal (vinylon). Synthetic staple fibers with a linear density above 10dtex can be used as a reference.
