This standard specifies the pollution level of the outdoor insulation of electric equipment, the artificial pollution tolerance value of the external insulation of each level and the creepage ratio distance. Note: Pollution of indoor and outdoor insulation is under consideration. This standard applies to the outdoor and external insulation (hereinafter referred to as external insulation) of power equipment (lines and power station equipment) with a rated voltage of 3-500kV in three-phase AC systems. Such equipment includes: pin insulators, disc suspension insulators, post insulators, bushings and insulating sleeves, etc. Further insulation includes porcelain and glass insulation, but excludes organic insulation, semi-conductive glaze insulation, air gaps and lightning arresters. This standard is only applicable to electrical equipment installed in areas with an altitude of 1000m or below.
