Scope

This standard specifies the metallographic structure rating chart (hereinafter referred to as the rating chart) and the rating method of steel die forgings. This standard applies to structural steel forgings such as automobiles, tractors, and general machinery that have been quenched and tempered or normalized. Structural steel die forgings of other products can also be used by reference. This standard does not apply to the evaluation of forgings decarburization, overheating, overburning and other microstructures.
