Scope
This standard applies to radio-frequency conducted and radiated disturbances from appliances whose main function is performed by electric motors, switching or regulating devices, or radio-frequency generators for induction cookers. These appliances include: household appliances, power tools, regulating controllers using semiconductor devices, electric motor-driven medical equipment, electric toys, vending machines, and movie or slide projectors. Mains-powered appliances and battery-powered appliances are included in the scope of use of this section. Included within the scope of this standard are also: - individual parts of the above mentioned equipment, such as electric motors, switching devices such as (power or protection) relays, if not mentioned in this standard, there is no emission requirement for these individual parts. Excluded from the scope of this standard are: - Equipment that explicitly sets out all emission requirements in the radio frequency range in other national standards. - regulating controllers incorporating semiconductor devices with a rated input current greater than 25 A per phase and equipment incorporating such regulating controllers. - power supply for separate use. The frequency range covered is 9 kHz~400 GHz. Multi-function devices that are applicable to different clauses of this part and/or other standards shall meet the requirements of each clause/standard when using relevant functions (see 7.2.1 for details). The limits in this section are determined on a probabilistic basis which enables an economically reasonable level of disturbance suppression to be maintained while still achieving adequate radio frequency protection. In special cases, radio frequency interference may occur even if the limit values are complied with. Additional provisions may be required in such cases. The influence of electromagnetic phenomena related to the safety performance of the appliance is not included within the scope of this standard.
