This document applies to Voltage Limiting Devices (VLDs) to be applied in DC traction systems in order to comply with protective provisions against electric shock from DC@ and combined AC ?C DC voltages@ in accordance with the IEC 62128 series@ taking into account stray current provisions. VLDs operate in such a way as to connect the track return circuit of DC railway systems to the earthing system or to conductive parts within the overhead contact line zone or current collector zone.

What is BS EN 15654-2 - Measurement of vertical forces on rail wheels about? BS EN 15654 is a series of European standards on railway applications that discusses the rail wheel vertical forces for safety purposes. BS EN 15654-2 is the second part of the BS EN 15654 series of documents that applies to the measurement of vertical wheel forces of railway vehicles in maintenance workshops and at manufacturing sites. Also deals with derived quantities that are used to describe the vehicle’s vertical wheel force distribution. BS EN 15654-2 specifies requirements for assessment supporting the specification, the design and the operation of the measurement process which are made either statically or quasistatically. Note: BS EN 15654-2 covers: Static and quasi-static wheel force measurements of new, modified or maintained rail vehicles in workshops and The evaluation of derived quantities such as the vertical wheelset forces, axle loads and other quantities that describe the vertical wheel force distribution of a vehicle. Note: The commercial weighing of vehicles is not covered by BS EN 15654-2
