IEC 62888-1:2018 describes the primary purpose of the Energy Measurement System (EMS), which measures energy consumption on board for applications such as energy management, energy saving, billing and others. It gives requirements for the complete EMS and also requirements for all devices implementing one or more functions of the EMS; applies to newly manufactured EMSs for use on board traction units, powered by AC and/or DC supply voltages as listed in IEC 60850.

1   Scope This International Standard specifies general criteria to demonstrate by testing that newly constructed complete railway vehicles conform with standards or other normative documents. This International Standard, as a whole or in part, applies to all railway vehicles except special purpose vehicles such as track-laying machines, ballast cleaners and personnel carriers. The extent of application of the standard for particular vehicles will be specifically mentioned in the contract , to take account, where necessary, of any legislative requirements. This document defines specifications covering laboratory tests for seats designed for passengers and crew in railway tractive and trailer vehicles. It concerns tri-axial rectilinear vibration within the frequency range 0,5 Hz to 50 Hz. It specifies the input test vibration to be used at seat testing. This document makes it possible to characterize, in the form of frequency response functions, the manner in which vibration is transmitted to the seat occupant. It also provides an estimator showing the behaviour of the seat in terms of dynamic comfort perceived by the seated person. Different types of excitations can be used and are described depending on knowledge of the vibration environment encountered by the seat and the capability of the vibration simulator.

What is BS EN 15734‑2 about?    BS EN 15734‑2 is the second part of the multi-series of European standards on ‘Railway applications. BS EN 15734‑2 specifies test methods and acceptance criteria for a brake system for use in high-speed trains as described in the TSI Rolling Stock, operating on routes of the trans-European high-speed rail system.   The tests defined in BS EN 15734‑2 have the purpose of verifying that the braking performance and functions of the train's brake system comply at least with the respective requirements of EN 15734-1 .   NOTE: BS EN 15734‑2 is applicable to:  New vehicles of high-speed trains  New constructions of existing vehicle types  Major overhauls of the above-mentioned vehicles if they involve redesigning or extensive alteration to the brake system of the vehicle concerned.

1   Scope This European Standard describes the functionality, constraints, performance and operation of a brake system for use in high speed trains as described in the TSI High Speed Rolling Stock, operating on routes of the European railways and their infrastructure systems. The brake system requirements specified in this European Standard apply to trains that may operate at a maximum speed of up to 350 km/h on lines specifically built for high speed and define graduated values for deceleration related to four speed ranges (see Clause 6). This European Standard covers: — all new vehicle designs of high speed trains; — all major overhauls of the above-mentioned vehicles if they involve redesigning or extensive alteration to the brake system of the vehicle concerned. This European Standard does not cover locomotive hauled trains, which are specified by EN 14198. NOTE This document applies the functional subdivision into subsystems as specified in the TSI High speed. The braking system is part of the function: “Accelerate, maintain speed, brake and stop”.
