1. SCOPE 1.1 This standard states the requirements for a water-based silicone liquid polish and cleaner for use on varnished or lacquered wood, and painted metal. 1.2 This polish is used to clean and restore the finish on painted, varnished or lacquered wood and metal surfaces. For best results, the minimum amount of polish is to be applied on the surface to be cleaned, and it is buffed dry immediately. 1.3 Material manufactured to this standard is not recommended for use on plastic laminated surfaces where only cleaning is required. The use of glass cleaner conforming to CAN/CGSB-2.55 is recommended for the maintenance of this type of surface. 1.4 The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous.
