1.1 This specification covers carbon-steel wire and welded wire reinforcement produced from hot-rolled rod to be used for the reinforcement of concrete. The steel wire is cold-worked, drawn or rolled, plain (non-deformed, as-drawn or galvanized), or deformed. Welded wire reinforcement is made from plain or deformed wire, or a combination of plain and deformed wire. Common wire sizes and dimensions are given in Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, and Table 4. Actual wire sizes are not restricted to those shown in the tables. (A) Table 1 should be used on projects that are designed using inch-pound units; Table 2 should be used on projects that are designed using SI units.(B) The number following the prefix indicates the nominal cross-sectional area of the wire in square inches multiplied by 100.(C) For sizes other than those shown above, the Size Number shall be the number of one hundredth of a square inch in the nominal area of the wire cross section, prefixed by the W.(D) These sizes represent the most readily available sizes in the welded wire reinforcement industry. Other wire sizes are available and many manufactures can produce them in 0.0015 in.2 increments.(E) The nominal diameter is based on the nominal area of the wire. This part of ISO 15835 specifies requirements for reinforcement couplers, hereafter called couplers, to be used for splicing of steel reinforcing bars. This part of ISO 15835 specifies requirements for couplers to be used for mechanical splices in reinforced concrete structures under predominantly static loads and additional requirements for couplers to be used in structures subject to high cycle elastic fatigue loading and/or to low cycle elastic-plastic reverse loading. This part of ISO 15835 is intended to be applicable in relation to the various reinforced concrete design standards as well as in relation to the various standards for steel reinforcing bars. This part of ISO 15835 also provides directions for the evaluation of conformity of couplers. Compression-only couplers such as end-bearing sleeves are not covered by this part of ISO 15835.

1.1 This specification covers two types and two grades of 2-wire and 3-wire, uncoated steel strand for use in prestressed concrete construction. The two types of strand are low-relaxation and stress-relieved (normal-relaxation). Low-relaxation is to be regarded as the standard type. Stress-relieved (normal-relaxation) strand will not be furnished unless specifically ordered. The two grades are 250 [1725] and 270 [1860]. Grades 250 [1725] and 270 [1860] have minimum tensile strengths of 250 ksi [1725 MPa] and 270 ksi [1860 MPa] respectively, based on the nominal area of the strand. 1.2 ???This specification is applicable for orders in either inch-pound units (as Specification A910) or in SI units (as Specification A910M). 1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the specification.

This part of ISO 15698 is intended to be applicable in relation to the various reinforced concrete design standards, as well as in relation to the various standards for steel reinforcing bars. Testing of headed bars under impact loading is outside the scope of this part of ISO 15698.

This part of ISO 15698 specifies requirements for headed steel bars to be used as reinforcement of concrete structures. This part of ISO 15698 is a product standard and not an application standard. It is intended to cover a large variety of products and also to support the development of new products. This part of ISO 15698 specifies requirements for headed reinforcing bars with heads made of steel. Heads or head-bar connections made using other materials, including metal-filled sleeves, are not covered by this part End anchorages consisting of a steel bar or other steel component positioned orthogonally at the end(s) of a bar and welded on-site to the bar are outside the scope of this part of ISO 15698. This part of ISO 15698 is intended to cover products which are manufactured in a continuous production that allows the products to be tested in accordance with a defined testing regime. Requirements and testing for headed bars under impact loading are outside the scope of this part of ISO 15698.
