This standard specifies an interconnection method for attaching a cable Decoder (set back box) to a piece of consumer electronics equipment, such as a TV or VCR. Covered under this standard are two ports. An audio/video/control port is always required. An IF port is always required on the Receiver and may be required on the Decoder, depending on the application. The scope of this document extends to electrical and mechanical characteristics, and, for the control component of the interface, protocol and command set requirements. This standard specifies the physical characteristics of the interface between the Decoder and the Receiver. It is incomplete without IS 105.2, which specifies the control interface between the two devices. The two documents IS105.1 and IS 105.2, describe a basic or so-called ‘?eve1 1 ” decoder. It is intended that a level 1 device will provide for interface between more than one Receiver and more than one Decoder, but will not offer the full functionality of the AVBUS interface.

This standard contains a set of questions that can be used to evaluate a quality system to the requirements of various industry standards, such as the "'Q9000' series, EIA599, and the Malcolm Baldrige criteria. The standard reference columns in the checklist provide a crossreference from each of the checklist questions to the applicable paragraphs in the various quality standards. The crossreference can be used to create abbreviated checklists for evaluation of quality systems to a desired standard only. The section headings for the checklist match the elements of the *ANSI/ASQC 49001 (ISO9001) standard. The questions that are referenced to the Malcolm Baldrige Award criteria, if answered positively, will indicate only that the quality system has all of the elements necessary to respond to the Malcolm Baldrige questions, not how well the system may be scored in competition.
