Scope

This part of GB/T19725 specifies the safety requirements and test methods for the design, structure and use of portable backpack power brush cutters and lawn mowers that use internal combustion engines as power sources and transmit mechanical power to cutting attachments. This part proposes ways to eliminate or reduce various hazards caused by the use of the complete machine, and specifies the requirements for relevant information on safe operation provided by the manufacturer. This part and the relevant chapters of Part 1 (see 4.1) deal with all serious hazards, dangerous situations and serious hazards related to the complete machine during normal use and reasonable, manufacturer-foreseeable misuse of the complete machine. Whole body vibration hazards from powerplants are excluded. Note 1: There is currently no standard test procedure for measuring whole-body vibration induced by a backpack-type power unit. Note 2: See Appendix A and Appendix C of GB/T19725.1-2020 for the list of serious hazards. This section applies to products manufactured after its implementation. This section does not apply to machines fitted with non-integral metal blade structures, such as swing chains or swing knife blades.
