- This standard specifies the scope of application of the Charpy notched impact test for metallic materials, reference standards, test principles, terms and definitions, samples, test equipment and instruments, tests, test result processing and test reports. This standard applies to the impact test of metal Charpy V-notch and U-notch specimens at temperatures ranging from -192 to 1000°C. The impact test of other types of notched and unnotched specimens can refer to this standard.
