Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the energy absorbed by metallic materials in the Charpy impact test (V-shaped and U-notched specimens). This standard does not include the instrumented impact test method, which is specified in GB/T 19748-2005 "Metallic Materials Instrumented Charpy Impact Test Method".
