- This standard specifies the detailed classification of lubricating oils (gasoline engine oils and diesel engine oils) for automobiles and other stationary internal combustion engines. Diesel engine oil for railway diesel locomotives and marine diesel engine oil are not included. For the classification of two-stroke gasoline engine oil, see Appendix B (reference).
