Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the porosity of paper and board with a Benderson instrument. Note: Bendtsen instrument can also be used for the determination of Bendtsen roughness. This standard applies to paper and cardboard with an air permeability between 0.35 μm/(Pa·s) and 15 μm/(Pa·s). This standard does not apply to paper and paperboard with a rough surface. Such as crepe paper and corrugated paper, because this kind of paper is difficult to clamp and cause air leakage.
