Scope: This standard specifies the method for determining the longitudinal and transverse compressive strength of paper and paperboard using a short-distance compression tester. This standard applies to paper and board for the manufacture of cartons and boxes, and to laboratory-prepared sheets for pulp testing. The method specified in this standard cannot be used for strain determination (see A1 in Appendix A).
