Scope: This standard specifies the operating conditions, ratings, design and structure, and test requirements for indoor and outdoor gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear with a rated voltage of AC 72.5kV and above and a frequency of 50Hz. This standard applies to gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear that uses gas as the insulating medium in whole or in part. The term "GIS (gas insulated metal-enclosed switchgear)" in this standard refers to "gas insulated metal-enclosed switchgear". The GIS referred to in this standard is composed of a number of individual components directly linked to each other, and can only be operated in this way. Unless otherwise specified in this standard, each component shall comply with its own standard. Unless otherwise specified, GIS is designed for normal use conditions.
