Scope
The purpose of this standard is to provide users and suppliers of industrial process measurement and control devices and their components with a series of uniform and optional environmental conditions, which are the environmental conditions that may be faced in the specified place of use. This standard lists the environmental and climatic conditions, such as air temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, that land and offshore industrial process measurement and control devices may face in specified places during operation, during operation after installation, and during storage or transportation. . This standard does not take into account the climatic conditions at the time of maintenance. This standard also does not take into account the environmental conditions directly related to fire and explosion hazards and the environmental conditions related to ionizing radiation. The impact of specific environmental conditions on personnel is also outside the scope of this standard. The influencing quantities considered in this standard are limited to those which may directly affect the performance of process measurement and control devices, so only the relevant environmental conditions are considered. In order to list the environmental conditions, this standard gives the location class expressed in severity class or several severity class.
