- This standard specifies general requirements and definitions for overspeed limiters for the protection of reciprocating internal combustion engines and their driven machinery. This standard applies to land, railway traction and marine reciprocating internal combustion engines. This standard does not apply to road construction machinery, earth moving machinery, agricultural and industrial tractors, road vehicles and aviation engines.
