Scope: This standard specifies the general technical requirements for indoor intrusion alarm system detectors. Additional requirements for each type of detector are given in the specific standard for that detector. This standard and the standard for special types of detectors specify the minimum requirements for the performance, installation and testing of detectors. The additional performance of the detector can be increased, but the performance and reliability of the detector should not be adversely affected. Additional or more stringent test procedures are specified for enhanced detectors.
