Scope: This standard specifies the special requirements and test methods for passive glass break detectors using piezoelectric sensors for intrusion alarm systems in buildings. This standard is a supplement to GB 10408.1 "Intrusion Detector Part 1: General Requirements" (idt IEC 60839-2-2 "General Requirements for Intrusion Alarm System Detector Technical Requirements"). This standard should be used in conjunction with IEC 60839-1-1 "Alarm Systems Part 1: General Technical Requirements Section 1: General Rules". This standard applies to detectors in which sensors are mounted on standard glass or flat glass to detect glass breakage. NOTE 1 The glass breakage detectors discussed in this standard may not be suitable for the following types of glass: toughened glass, laminated glass, plastic-coated glass or wired- glass). NOTE 2 Other types of glass breakage detectors will be covered in separate standards.
