- The purpose of this standard is to determine the suitability of fiber optic devices to withstand continuous high temperature (dry heat) environmental conditions that may be encountered in actual use, storage and (or) transportation. This standard is not suitable for assessing the withstand capability and operation ability of the above-mentioned devices during temperature changes (for this case, see IEC 61300-2-22)
