Scope: The limits specified in this standard are used to provide protection for broadcasting receivers used in residential environments within the frequency range of 30MHz to 1000MHz. However, compliance with the requirements of this standard does not provide adequate protection for new types of radio transmitters or receivers used in residential environments within 10m of a vehicle or device. This standard applies to sources of broadband and narrowband electromagnetic emissions that may cause interference to radio reception. Such emission sources are: a) vehicles propelled by internal combustion engines, electric propulsion or both (see 3.1); b) ships propelled by internal combustion engines, electric propulsion or both (see 3.2), measured in the same way as vehicles, Unless their unique properties are clearly specified in this standard. c) devices equipped with an internal combustion engine (see 3.3). This standard includes limits and measurement methods for wideband and narrowband emissions. This standard does not apply to aircraft, traction systems (trains, trams and trolleybuses) and incomplete vehicles. This standard does not include the measurement of electromagnetic disturbances when the vehicle is connected to the power supply for charging. Users are referred to relevant IEC standards and CISPR standards that specify measurement methods and limits for this condition.
