This section applies to all machinery (stationary and mobile) that must have fixed access facilities. The purpose of this section is to define the general requirements for safe access to machines mentioned in GB/T 15706.2. GB 17888.1 gives suggestions on the correct selection of entry facilities when it is necessary to enter the machine and cannot enter directly from the ground or floor. This section applies to fixed ladders as machine parts. This standard may also apply to access to machinery installed in a building as part of the building, provided that the primary function of this part of the building is to provide access to machinery. This standard also applies to vertical ladders that are not permanently attached to the machine and that may be removed or moved aside during certain operations of the machine (for example, tool replacement for large presses). For the major hazards in this part, see Chapter 4 of GB 17888.1-2008.
