Scope: This standard applies to: ——AC power generation, transmission, distribution and power consumption systems and their equipment with a nominal voltage higher than 100V and a standard frequency of 50Hz; ——AC and DC traction systems; ——AC with a nominal voltage lower than 120V or DC less than 750V equipment. Alternating voltage means a frequency of 50 Hz (but not exclusive). Such equipment includes batteries (primary or accumulator), other AC or DC power supply units, electrical equipment (both industrial and telecommunications), and instrumentation. This standard does not apply to voltages representing signals, transmitting signals and measuring values. This standard does not apply to those standard voltages for components, components or equipment parts inside electrical installations.
