This standard specifies the value of the standard voltage as: - the preferred value of the nominal voltage of the power supply system; - the reference value for the design of equipment and systems. This standard applies to: ——AC power transmission, power distribution, and power consumption systems and their equipment with a nominal voltage higher than 220 V and a standard frequency of 50 Hz. - AC and DC traction systems. - equipment with a rated voltage of less than 120 V, with a standard frequency of 50 Hz (but not absolutely limited), and with a DC voltage of less than 1 500 V. Includes batteries (consisting of primary or accumulator cells), other power supply units (AC or DC), electrical equipment (including industrial and communication) and appliances. - HVDC transmission system. This standard does not apply to voltages that characterize or transmit signals and measurements. This standard does not apply to the voltage of internal components, components or parts of electrical equipment.
