This standard specifies the key factors for determining the atmospheric corrosion of metals and alloys. Including atmospheric humidity time, sulfur dioxide (S0.) Pollutant content (P) and salt content (S) in the air. The atmospheric corrosivity rating is determined based on these three factors. 1.2 The classifications given in this section can be used directly to assess the atmospheric corrosivity of metals and alloys under conditions of known humidity times, sulfur dioxide pollutants, and airborne salt content. This section does not apply to the corrosive atmosphere of the special use environment, such as the atmosphere in the chemical or metallurgical industry. Humidity times and contaminants in these environments are not universal. Pollutant classification and corrosion grade can be directly used for technical and economic analysis of corrosion damage, and reasonable selection of protective measures. Appendix A summarizes the technical content of this part in an easy-to-read manner.
