Scope: This standard provides information for the design, installation, inspection, maintenance and testing of effective lightning protection systems for information systems in or on buildings. The following situations do not belong to the scope of this standard: vehicles, ships, aircrafts. Various offshore installations are governed by regulations established by specialized agencies. This section does not consider the system equipment itself. However, this section provides some guidelines for cooperation between designers of information systems and designers of LEMP protection systems in order to achieve optimal protection effectiveness.
