This part proposes technical requirements for surge protectors that have been standardized by GB 18802.1. These SPDs are installed in accordance with the lightning protection zone concept described in GB/T 19271.1. First, starting from the relevant initial threat value, this section gives guidance on how to determine the surge carried by each SPD. For complex systems equipped with SPDs, the system can be divided into several simple basic structures following the method described in this section. Knowing the size and direction of the local lightning current in the system, you can choose the appropriate SPD. This part also involves some basic issues of energy cooperation between SPDs and between SPDs and protected equipment. In order to achieve effective cooperation, it is necessary to consider the characteristics of each SPD and the surge condition of the corresponding installation site. This section also outlines methods for verifying that the SPDs installed in the system are compatible.
