Scope: This standard specifies the sieving method for determining the particle size distribution of iron ore using a sieve with a sieve hole ≥ 36 μm. The particle size distribution is expressed by the mass and mass percentage of the undersize or oversize of the selected sieve. The purpose of this standard is to provide a basis for tests involving iron ore particle size determination and for use by suppliers and buyers. When this standard is used for comparative tests, the parties concerned should reach an agreement on the choice of specific methods to avoid disputes afterwards.
