This part of GB 19726 involves some serious hazards in the design and structure of portable forestry chainsaws powered by internal combustion engines, and specifies their safety requirements and test methods. This section applies to short-handled forestry chainsaws used by only one operator. This section gives methods for eliminating or reducing various hazards when using chainsaws, and specifies the parts related to safe operation provided by the manufacturer. Information request. This section gives all serious hazards, but does not include chainsaw kickback (see 5.5.3.1) or balance (see 5.4.1) hazards with an engine displacement above 80cm3, and does not consider hazards other than noise other environmental factors. The chainsaws covered in this section are suitable for use by operators who have read and understood the safety requirements in the instruction manual and are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE). The chain saw can only be operated with the right hand on the rear handle and the left hand on the front handle.
