- This standard specifies the requirements for the energy management system, enabling the organization to identify the energy factors that it can control or influence according to laws, regulations, standards and other requirements, and establish and implement the energy management system. This standard is applicable to organizations of all types and sizes that need to: a) establish, implement, maintain and improve an energy management system to reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency; b) be confident that the stated energy policy can be complied with; c) Demonstrate conformity to this standard by: 1) conducting self-assessment and self-declaration; 2) seeking confirmation of its self-declaration from an external organization; 3) seeking confirmation of its conformity from interested parties of the organization; 4) seeking confirmation from an external organization Certification of its energy management system.
