Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of elevator traction machines with a rated speed not greater than 8.0m/s. This standard applies to traction machines for passenger elevators and freight elevators. This standard does not apply to traction machines for utility elevators and home elevators.
